I froze raspberries today. I have been picking about 1/2 to 1 pint a day from my little raspberry patch for the last week or so. I almost have a gallon freezer bag full. Once I getseveral gallons froze, I will pick some for my mom. She makes pies for my DH during the winter so I dont have to.

HAHA, zucchini! I also freeze in 2 cup increments because most recipes call for that. I have a new seal-a-meal and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! You can fit so much more in the freezer. Making Chocolate Zucchini Cake tomorrow so I won't have to freeze quite so much.

headred .. Do you have the kind of Seal - a- meal that sucks all of the air out of the packages? I have the old standard one, but don't really use it up to it's potential.

We hunt on private property....Chad's family land and my parent's land so we don't need a license and I cheat....I don't tag anything. I shot 3 in MY front yard when I was pregnant. We have a lot of does and so we try to cull them pretty much all the time. We try not to shoot anything smaller than 6 points as far as the bucks go.

I'm a rebel!!!!! :gig

More spaghetti sauce from the "last harvest" of my garden. Its a fairly small harvest, esp since blight destroyed most of my plants. But at this point, I'll take what I can get :D

Okay friends, I just read all 7 pages and didn't see any mention of carrots. I just shredded a ton to make into cakes and muffins, but I'm low on eggs (come on, chickens!) so I was thinking I could freeze it like I do shredded zucchini. But do I need to blanch the carrots first?

TIA!

I have never froze carrots. I can never get enough to grow. I am lucky if I have any to eat fresh! LOL

If I was going to shred them, I don't know if they need to be blanched. Blanching will help the color, but if it is going in to something baked, that isn't going to matter much.

Hummmm.

I added more grapes to the freezer. WOW those vines have been productive. I cooked smashed a batch and will give making Pyment a try. It will be a small batch since I only have 3 lbs of honey.

I put up 4 pints of pumpkin butter this morning (froze 3 and put 1 in the fridge) and froze some overripe bananas for later!
