About 24 cups of pumpkin. I baked about 4 different squashes and pumpkins, then pureed them all together into a perfectly smooth puree. They went into 1-, 2- and 4-cup containers, then the freezer. Ahhh... Soup, bread and pancakes yearround!

Freezers are just about full. 36 pounds of hamburger, 40 pouches of soup, 25 pounds of butter, 15 pounds of bacon, 10 packs of two chicken breasts, 10 quarts of chicken stock, 6 dozen muffins, six Dutch apple pies, ten pounds asparagus, and 16 ready to grill cheese sandwiches from today.

As mentioned in other threads, our local corner market is celebrating it's 50th this weekend. I have broken down and frozen 30 pounds of hamburger at 10 cents a pound and also have 15 pork butt roasts, 79 cents each.

I need a bigger freezer; had to use my daughter's.

I was stunned. This little store was the one I used to walk to as a kid. In fact, the first time I ever drove a car without an adult inside, it was to go to this store for my mom. The manager? I was flower girl in his mom and dad's wedding. You had to have been a long-time customer to get the invitation. Others got good prices, like 69 cents for 5 pounds of potatoes, but only those who have been there a really long time got the special invitations.

Makes me feel guilty for shopping at Winco !!! Okay, it passed.
