There are a *few* things at Aldi's that I like that can save me money, but most of their food is highly processed and IMO not very good quality. I would buy milk and butter there, if I couldn't afford organic that week, and I'd get frozen broccoli from them because it seemed on par with the supermarket. There is a fresh produce section, but it was small. And they have some amazing non-edible weekly specials that are work looking at. Not much else, though, to make it worth driving that far for me. If it was next door, I'd go now and then for the few things I liked.

We're getting a new Aldi's here in the spring. Do you like it? I don't buy a lot of prepackaged food. I'm not sure what they carry.

That sounded depressing, though :( Can you make some homemade kettle corn or a treat to make up for not going to something fun? We're making s'mores around the fireplace tonight!

Speaking of which... have you guys made marshmallowss? Tonight's are store bought but Ohhhhh, homemade are *SSOOOOO* good!!!!!!

I worked all day so will make great money tomorrow.
did not spend money today---oh wait, yes I did....had to buy 2 hams for Nicoles pre-school thanksgiving party tomorrow. cost me $40
shoot me OK.....the sign up sheet everyone picked the easy stuff first, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, cookies, pie, etc. etc....only thing left was ham and turkey. I wasn't cooking no turkey so I volunteered ham. Next year if I get caught with that one I will not go to the party...LOL---once is enough for this cost! :(
but even though this spent money is for the church pre-school party so I guess it is well spent! :)

I did not do so great today. I shopped hungry. The only thing in my favor was I bought spinach on sale for .99 cents at Aldi's but it rang up 1.99. They gave me back the entire amount I paid for the 2 bags.

I did buy a lot of veggies which I have been craving.

I used to shop at Aldi's when I worked at the private school. I will say that I looked at every item I picked up because a majority of the iems are food products from China; I personally refuse to purchase them.

Ham, turkey, gravy & biscuits? For a pre-school party? I'll tie my hair in pigtails and walk on my knees to go that party. :gig

It wasn't depressing. I'm home alone and since my kids are grown and gone there wasn't any real reason to go. If I would have gone I would have bought the mentioned things just to buy them and because I like them, not because I need them.

Aldi is like any other store, read the lables. We buy a few things there but get most of our food from Krogers.

Stayed home, baked bread, ate leftovers for lunch, cooked supper from the freezer and sold some eggs.
