Not enough padding in that area! LOL

I am at work now, but I gave her a few squirts of vitamin water/egg yolk mix before I left. She seems to be able to hold it together for short periods of time. Twister appears to be more pissed off than anything that her body isn't cooperating.

Anyone who raises ducks will already know this, but growing out feathers is an itchy business. She tries to groom herself and falls over. Then she cusses. Well, it sounds like cussing to me anyway.

Twister is still twisting away! She is surprisingly strong and tries very hard to be a normal duck. Her control over her head and neck comes and goes, but she keeps trying. She has figured out how to feed herself and how to drink though she is even messier than a normal duck. :p

I am still giving her vitamins, kefir, and ACV mixed with egg yolk.

Last night we noticed one of the ducklings out with mamma wasn't doing well. His eyes were all crusted shut and he was off by himself. Crusted up eyes are a sign of humidity issues in the nest, so that would explain "Stevie" and Twister. We brought him inside and treated his eyes, but apparently he had other issues too and passed away this morning.

As hot and dry as it has been, I guess we are lucky only 2 had problems.

Still not sure how Twister is going to do in the long run, but if spunk and determination play any role, she just might make it.

My roller coaster of life...

Weeee! Twister is still happy and healthy. Her growth rate seems to be keeping up with her siblings. I have upped her chances for a healthy productive life to 75%+

AAAAAA! One of the female ducklings out with mom is dead. No clue why. That leaves 5 males and 1 female duckling in the pen. :tongue

Weeee! I entered hubby's name in a drawing in at the local Big R. It's kind of our local version of a Tractor Supply Store or a Fleet Farm. HE WON! $1000 gift card!!! :ya

AAAAAA! I killed my car. Warped head. We knew it was dying but still. It couldn't have waited until fall? We are saving up for a new one for me. Well, a new used one. Too bad Big R doesn't sell used cars :p

Weeee! A girl I owed a drake to has decided she no longer wants duck so I don't have to order 15 more ducklings and worry about what to do with them just to get her the drake I owe her.

AAAAAA! None of my ducks, babies or adults, are selling

Weeee! Sold the last pair of spare quail

AAAAAA! Found more sections of the new floor Cookie has ruined

Weeee! That evil wench can't live forever

AAAAAA! Trying to sell extra stuff to add to the car fund and nobody is buying. Can't blame them though. A holiday is coming up and the economy still sucks.

Weeee! Corn and pumpkins in the three sisters garden are doing well despite squirrel attacks, bug attacks and hubby randomly killing things with the hose.

AAAAAA! I forgot to plant the beans

I think I will start a new thread on "What would you buy?". I bet I get some really interesting suggestions.

A roller coaster, it is! It shouldn't be too late for you to plant beans...I'll put in my second crop, when I pull the garlic- in another couple of weeks. Congrats on the big win!
