Nesco American Harvest food dehydrator for $5.99
I was looking for some hiking shorts for abi and stumbled on that. I also found her some nice shorts for $3. Of course, we ended up NOT hiking because we stayed up too late eating low carb pizza and watching Tourchwood: Miracle Day. Instead we went to a "chick flick". Ed said "Cowboys vs Aliens" is NOT a chick flick. We said it sure was because it featured a lot of hot guys in wet shirts

That reminds me. My husband and I have an on-going "disagreement" about whether Chocolat is a chick flick. He says it is; I say it is not because it has at least ONE explosion.

actually, I KNOW it's a chick flick, but I tease him because he once pontificated that the difference between a chick flick and a man's movie is that movies for men have explosions and chase scenes.

Low-Carb Queen - RIP: 1963-2021
I went to the market this morning and got quite a haul. Ended up spending $15 though. So I thought it might be a good idea to weight my purchases and see what I was paying per pound for my farmer's market food.
Money spent: $15
Total weight: 23.2 lbs
Price/lb: 63
Not bad at all! Especially when you compare it to grocery store organics! I could have done even better, but I HAD to have 2 cantaloupes for $5. They smelled so good plus I think they were calling my name!
Aside from the cantaloupe, I got zucchini, cucumbers, jalapenos, candy onions, yellow squash, and acorn squash. The best deal was the acorn squash at only $1 each.
So I can say with confidence that the farmer's market is saving me money. Plus I have gotten to know the farmer and his family over the past couple of years. I am truly helping a Colorado family be self sufficient.
