Well, I don't know that it's actually that warm, more that I'm getting used to the cold! But, it's still too cold.

When I clean the field, the horse poop is all frozen.

I have trouble cleaning Cindy's litter box cuz everything is frozen and stuck to the bottom.

I have to change water for the chickens and rabbits 2x a day and it's frozen solid each and every time.

And the worst part? My hay guy was supposed to deliver my last 4 RBs. He couldn't get his tractor started to load the hay, so I have to wait to get it.

I did get wood cut up and it's comfortable in the house right now. In fact, it's the warmest it's been in here since this cold snap hit. I didn't get all the wood cut that I have, but I did fill the wood holder in the basement. I plan on getting another truck load tomorrow, then cut all of it up on Saturday. I hope to get another 3 loads next week, then after that, if I can get 2 loads a week, I should be able to keep up on what I need as well as get wood in the wood shed. Then, once it's filled, if I can do 1 load a week, that should hopefully mean that I'll have it full for next fall! I can dream. :D

Ewwwwwwwww---- cold sucks! I'm almost embarrassed to say that we got to 78 degrees today, and the mud is drying up nicely. Hope you get all the wood you need.

So do I. And, if I can end the winter w/a full wood box, that would be a big help for next year. I had wanted to have it full last year, but w/my knee operation, then not having my truck hardly at all for several weeks made it impossible to do.

It's only 7:25, and I'm already thinking about going to bed!

We were up to 80 today. Felt like Spring! Hope you get your woodpile done! Sounds ambitious! It's about bed time here also.

I have to remember to bring home a tarp from the farm today. They're calling for some light snow overnight, so I want to get my wood covered. And, the wind has finally died down! That should help w/how cold it feels out there. Today will still be in the 20s, tomorrow low 30s, Sunday a bit warmer, then Monday, it should be back to around normal for this time of year! And, as long as we don't get any rain mid week, I should be able to take the bike!

OK, it is still too cold here. And this morning, it got to me. I didn't do anything but sit in a chair cuddled up in a blanket until it was time for me to leave for the farm. I got all the horses fed, then made a fire in my fire pit. It was cloudy out, I had to keep going in and out of my tack shed, so that meant I couldn't turn on my heater and I wanted a way to warm up at times. Plus, the farm cats get canned food in the afternoon, and it was all frozen. Normally, I stick it in the windshield of my truck and it thaws out from the sun. W/the clouds, it couldn't do that. So, I stuck it on my cooking grate.

Hubby's supposed to be coming out one day this weekend and working on putting the insulation in my shed. So, that meant I needed to get as much as I could out of the tack shed. I had a bunch of old recipes, etc that I needed to get rid of, so I burned them. Got that all done, gave Stormy his 2nd feeding, got hay out, took care of the chickens, fed the cats and left. I didn't bother w/cleaning the field today. Don't know if I'll get to it tomorrow or not, but I'm not overly worried about it.

Got home, got the fire going, ate lunch and went shopping. I was afraid it was going to be a mad house in there since they're calling for 1-3" snow, and people think they're not going to be able to get to the stores for weeks, so they go and buy everything up. But, it wasn't crowded in there at all. Got home, got everything unloaded, then went and got the generator, chainsaw and chain oil, then went into the woods. By that time, it was starting to snow. I was able to get a whole load of wood fairly quickly, get home, get it all unloaded, cover it up and take care of the bunnies and goats B4 it got too bad out.

Came in the house and decided I've had enough of a cold house. I found my 1500 watt electric heater and plugged it in the kitchen. Once it got fairly warm in there, I took it and put it in the bedroom. Then, the bath room. This is the warmest it's been in here in days! I should have done this B4.

I'm now relaxing. I have everything done I needed to have done B4 it got bad out. I don't know how bad the roads are going to get, so I figure I could loose power if someone takes out a pole, and hubby isn't home to hook up the generator. But, now that the house is warm again, I'm Ok w/no power for awhile.

I hate winter electric bills! I've told J he needs to just bundle up and deal with it!! I refuse to pay to run that damn heater when a sweater and a blanket will do the trick! It's not nearly as cold here as you have it!!
