well i'm glad that "chicken rustling" isnt a hangin' offense.. or at least i HOPE it isnt!

ha! great work
:)
I don't think he'll press charges considering he just took apart his huge storage trailer and dragged it to the woods with his bucket loader and dumped it. Not even his property back there.

Well, DH is a half hour into his job interview. :fl A great opportunity for him if it works out.
We're expecting showers so all outdoor plans DS and I had are shot. We were going to go to the beach for the day but that's out. I need to take him for follow up bloodwork. We're going to officially test for goat's milk allergy. :fl :fl :fl on that one. Oh, to be able to make my baby cheese and yogurt!!
I think my mom is taking us out to lunch for my birthday but I'm not sure. She called this morning and asked if we'd be around at lunch time. Actually now that I think about it she may be bringing me sushi. There's nothing DS can eat at the local Japanese restaurant so we don't eat there with him anymore. But she can bring it to me and I can use my wheat free tamari instead of their soy sauce... :love my mama!
So that leaves me puttering around the house making my own birthday dessert and probably dinner too. I have some real crab meat so I'm making a crab salad, some marinated mozzarella balls and a cucumber salad from to the two measly cukes in my container garden. I'm so frustrated with my garden. I water every morning if we haven't had rain. I still lost lots of things, mostly tomatoes. :hit Whine whine whine.
We are supposed to have an outdoor church service in the nearby state park. Doesn't look good with the rain coming. I'd be making all those yummy foods for our picnic dinner but we'll probably be eating them in our own kitchen at this rate. Maybe on the deck if it's not blowing too hard. DS is very disappointed for me. I can't think of single cheap indoor thing to do with him that I really want to do. There are a couple of movies out we actually want to see, which is unusual, but DH wants to see them too so we can't go until he is home from work. (He has to go there after he comes home and changes from the interview. They think he is at a doctor's appointment. He technically is since the principal he is interviewing with is a PhD.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

You're what, 30, right?

;)
Um, yeah, right!
Thanks!
Dh has been home to change. Said it went well and they seemed enthusiastic. They will talk to a few more people and he'll know by the end of next week. They did ask for permission to speak to his current principal. That won't be fun if he doesn't get the job. :/

:celebrate It was sooooo good! I enjoyed it in my own cozy living room with DS snuggled close. It is raining steadily now which is making the few surviving plants and the lawn happy. The backyard is quiet. The goats are munching hay from their indoor barn feeder. The ducks are laying on the lawn or on their nests and the chickens are tucked into their half of the barn. Even George the rooster is quiet.
Plans for the church service tonight have officially been cancelled. I think I will just cook up the king crab legs I have in the freezer, and serve them with salad and marinated mozz that I just finished. Some cukes sliced up with red onion and a nice simple vinaigrette and the GF coconut custard pie and mmmmmmmmm
Now to drag DS from in front of the TV to do something more constructive. Play a game? Read a book together? Create a new letterbox to hide? hmmm, the possibilities!

Yikes! Phone just rang. Caller ID: "School where DH interviewed this am." Yikes!
I answered and the principal herself asked to speak to DH. He's working at current school til 3:00 so I just say I expect him home after 3. She gives me her cell phone number and asks if I'd have him call as soon as he gets in. I say sure. Yikes!
I called him at school and actually got him. He was able to sneak to his back room phone and call her. She basically told him that they'll be calling his references and moving things along and she wants to make sure he's definitely interested. She never came out and said the job was his but did say that the Board of Ed will be meeting and it sounds like she'll be presenting him as their candidate of choice. It sounds like if the BOE approves the job is his. Holy Cow! I'm shaking! This is HUGE! He has taught for 30 years. 1 year in NY State and 29 at his current school. He has never interviewed anywhere else, never wanted to.
I think we will know for sure by the end of next week. She said she wanted him to be able to give 30 days notice.
Sounds kind of positive, right?
