Today was a real easy workout. We hiked in to look at a nest found yesterday and found a juvenile and the two adults and then we hiked out. Maybe a mile hike total.

Then we started the real workout although an easy day was planned, only 10 points instead of 20+. Did the the first three points walking over downed trees and logs, up and down some hills, and found another goshawk nest with a juvenile and an adult. Looked around a bit and called it a day. Every nest we find eliminates the points within a one mile radius. Then hiked out about 1/2 mile.

One more day on this project and it will be another easy day. Then on to Idaho.

Sounds wonderful!

Swam up and down the length of the lake 3 times...got really out of breath when I pushed myself to go fast. All in all I was in the water doin' somethin' for 2 hours.

Then came home to a wonderfully HOT house. :/

Picked 33 lb of beans with my kids and dug up 150 garlic bulbs. Does that count? :D

EVERYTHING counts in my book!

Ended up going to the gym for my walk...it was too hot around here to workout. Yes, I'm a wimp. I got three miles in.

WARNING gym rant:
This guy there really ticked me off too, that is why I don't like this particular gym too well. Rude people everywhere. Every channel (and I don't watch t.v. during the day, so it was a rare luxury for me) except one was on CNN. But the other one channel was on Oprah and they were talking about healthy food to serve your family on a budget...ok right up my alley. Well this man walked right up to the t.v. and switched it! To what? CNN!!! :barnie (I was almost done so I just let it slide.) What is wrong with people? At my old gym it was common courtesy to ask those around you if you can switch the channel.

I mean I like CNN and all the other news channels, but during a boring workout, I want to get away!! And who needs 5 T.V.s on CNN????!

bbh - how did you ever survive Texas? 98 is hot and humid?? :gig (just kidding!)
Ha ha ha! Well to tell you the truth, I was such a baby. I had to be in a.c. all the time. Quite expensive to say the least. Oh, and by the way when you live in a very hot state, don't cut down all the trees and cement everything over, it just makes it way hotter! Houston was one big slab of cement...a solar oven! I miss my friends dearly, but I would be in the state penn if I lived through one more Houston summer! I guess your answer is I really wasn't surviving at all...just slowly withering away.

Right melting is a better adjective!

Well, yesterday I did manage to get a good 4 mile walk in at the outdoor trail...it was hot, but I made myself do it.

Today is an 8 mile day, same as tomorrow. I didn't get that oppurtunity last weekend, so I am excited.

Something about a gym that makes a workout seem like it takes forever. Anyone else feel that way?

A good brisk walk outside with nature and perhaps a friend is actually very enjoyable to me. I crave it now...glad we are on the down side of this dreaded heat wave.

I DID IT!! I managed to walk the compete 8 miles all at once. (Last week I did it in a split shift, 4 in the am and 4 more in the pm.) It was hard...but I did it. It took me almost 2 hours! (Remember this is a hilly, rocky trail.) I'm still a bit slow, but I don't care, I did it. (You all would be proud of me, I didn't let the heat get in the way.)

Tomorrow another 8.

Whew, my dogs are killing me!!
