Some of that is kinda funny. Some not.

I don't allow my kids on FB. They are still way to young. I do wish however I could limit some of my siblings. :hide

Same here Aly!! We do not let our kids online either! Sigh.... Let's not talk about the holes in the walls.

Gina, I am really feeling bad for the girl. Most ALL of her drama is her own making! She posts about everyone always betraying her and no one likes her and talks bad about the church and so on. If she was my daughter I would be taking her phone and internet away and spending EVERY waking minute with her to make sure she stays out of trouble and does not cause drama....oh wait! I already do that with my kids now!! :D

We took the kids swimming this evening. A couple from church has a SUPER NICE pond with a diving board. There are pictures somewhere on my blog of it. It was a little cool out and the water was chilly but the kids had fun!

My kids are allowed online to a site only after I approve it. Like PBSkids.org, or other educational sites where they can play games that actually teach them something. I personally hate facebook.

I let my kids watch some youtube videos after I have watched them already. They love America's Funniest Home Videos so sometimes we'll watch funny animals videos online and youtube actually has some decent educational children's music videos that I'll let them watch while I sit there with them. They aren't ever allowed to just sit on the computer and click stuff willy nilly though.

I can't believe how sexually active kids are nowadays....makes me crazy. My BF had a student in the 7th grade turn up pregnant 2 yrs ago. I thought I was gonna fall over.

Something sweet.... My 15 (almost 16) yo went down to the neighbors today and came home with a wooden puzzle for 6 and 9 yo!! He did a really good job on them and did not even draw the puzzle pieces out! He just free handed it with a jigsaw!! 15 yo did something really nice and learned a useful skill today!!! :D
The neighbor suggested that they paste a picture on it and then use a razor blade to cut it out....not sure if they are going to do that though.

PamsPride, that is really clever! He might even be able to make a little money at a local farmer's market selling those- especially if he uses interesting and unusual pictures on them

Ok lets not go there but..... My MIL was 15 when she conceived my dh. FIL was 18. They got married and all is well. But I tell my son, now 11, it is not the norm or do I think it to be ok. I don't think he realizes my dh was the reason for the marriage.

I just tell him they did crazy things like get married young in the old days. :hide

Today has been a rather productive day! I went to Dollar General today because I had $20 off of a $100 purchase (4 $5 off of a $25 purchase coupons). So I stocked up on TP, some cleaners, some canned goods, baby diapers, more clothes pins, milk, cereal...I had a cart load of stuff!! No junk food or goodies though...which I wish I had right now! LOL!

I canned up 5 qts and 1 pint of yellow and green beans that were from my own garden today! I am still waiting for my pole beans to come on.

I found out yesterday that I will be working Labor Day weekend! I will be getting 28 hours! YAY!!

I scrubbed my shower and made that cleaner someone recommended on here. I also did a couple loads of laundry.

I have now made $259 with Swagbucks ! I also have enough points for my 5 $5 Amazon Gift Cards for the month of September and enough to get one in October. My goal is to get enough points for all 5 of the $5 AGC before I have to work in two weeks. I have made $40 with iRazoo so far! I have got a LOT of really good stuff to help me on my journey to become more self sufficient! I will have to post a list sometime!

Two of my boys are on a canoe trip and DH is running the sound system for Jordan Biel today. So it is kind of quiet around here except baby girl getting into stuff! LOL!

Stopping in here before I can't hardly come up for air!! Canning season is full on right now! We picked 50 pounds of tomatoes and I am turning them into sauce. We also picked another 3 quarts worth of green beans that are waiting to be canned.
Then I was given a case (think the size of TWO xerox boxes) of Cucumbers that I am going to turn into pickles, and a case of green peppers which I need to dehydrate and then a case (the size of one xerox box) of tomatoes! Then a few misc. veggies.

A friend called me Sunday and asked if I wanted to go in on an order of creepy meats. She ordered them last night AFTER 5:30PM and they arrived THIS morning! So I have 26 little cotton balls in a box in my dining room!

When I picked up the baby chicks my friend gave me two big boxes of clothes...that I now need to go through...which is sitting in the kitchen next to all the veggies....not far from the chicks! ACK! I feel like my house is being taken over! LOL!

I went to a garage sale today and got 9 books for the kiddos for .25 each. A nice pair of shorts for 9 yo for .25. A pair of jeans for 12 yo for .50. Two shirts for him for .25 each and 3 shirts for myself for .50 each.

Well, I am off to get these veggies taken care!!

Hey Pam good to see you. I was putting some sauce in my pantry the other day and I thought of you. How are those 1/2 gallons you canned???

I can only imagine the size of the pantry you need to store for you family. Wheew!! Do you have a cellar?

I'm doing sauce, relish and pears today. It's all or nothin baby!!!
