Wow, rebecca, what a story about your pittie. That is quite a tale about the tornado and all. You two have been through a lot together.
I love brindle. and I love pits. 1/3 of our 358 fosters were probably part pit bull. People need to judge dogs by their "content of their character" just like people, not how wide their face is. Loved your story!

I love poms too. My daughter had a beloved one that was stolen and since that happened, I've heard of several other people whose pom was taken. Be careful with yours!

Yours does look a little leggy but we see a lot of tall ones like that here on the West Coast, rarely do they look like show poms. But isn't that how it is for a lot of breeds? Those showy ones just are not the kind the rest of us see. Golden retrievers for instance, people always seem to have big goldens but the show dogs are quite small.

Katie what a cutie Scooter is! I love it when they are old like that.....it happens so quickly! But at least with little dogs they stick around awhile! You are around my daughter's age, she got a cat at 14 that is an elderly kitty but still around, too. Elmer looks VERY much like the dog from The Story of Red, except I believe Red is a little smaller, maybe a different mix, just the same look. I love that kinda dog, yours just looks a little more shepherdy than Red, but the same face. Buford, I believe, is at least part Border Terrier. He looks very much like one. What does he weigh? They are kind of a medium-small, and the coat feels coarse. Is his coat silky or coarse? When you see him next to the other dog he looks a little too big to be a pure border terrier. I think they weigh around 20 pounds usually or less?
You know, when Buford was smaller I thought Border Terrier also! He was advertised on Petfinder as an Airedale mix, which is what Scooter is. I really don't think Buford is part Airedale though. He howls like a hound and when he's wet he really looks houndy. He's bigger than a Border now. His coat is coarse like a terrier's though. It's weird, his fur is brown at the base, then black, then silver tipped. It's pretty! If I had 100 bucks to waste I'd do one of those doggie DNA test just for kicks.

I'd bet there is some border terrier in there somewhere, I don't see airedale. But whatever he is, he is darn cute!

I have a couple dogs I'd like to do the DNA test on. That would sure be fun, wouldn't it?

She and I have been through a lot together. The tornado and then the moving around after that was just one. Being able to rely on her when my dad was dying was the biggest. There was so much stress when he was sick becuase he refused to stay at a hospital, and it seemed we were making almost daily emergency runs. He couldn't be left alone at all. Dh and I both worked and twice we came home to him on the floor unable to get up. Knowing everything there was safe was a HUGE relief.
I'm not sure if Goldie is pure or not. I was told she was. It really doesnt matter. I don't breed, so it makes no difference to me whether she is pure or not.

Sometimes mixes are healthier...and she is sure cute! I've seen other PB poms that resembled her.

Our first two dogs, Bear and Arlo. Arlo is the Golden. DH had Bear when we met. Bear brought Arlo home one day after wandering off. He stayed for 12 years. Miss these guys still.

Wonderful pictures, Hen!

I love those orange kitties. We have one with a crooked tail, so we named him "Mr. Stubby."
